D-ICE KFA — Liquid Runway De-Icer

D-ICE KFA is a next generation high-performance liquid de-icer formulated for runways, taxiways, and aprons. Based on a carefully optimized combination of potassium formate (25%) and potassium acetate (23–25%), it ensures fast, efficient de-icing even in harsh winter conditions — with a freezing point as low as -15°C (diluted 1:1).

Part of the D-ICE product line, D-ICE KFA delivers reliable performance while meeting the latest SAE AMS 1435 D standards. Free of urea, glycol, chlorides, and other harmful substances, it is designed to minimize environmental impact and prevent corrosion on aircraft and pavement surfaces.

Performance & Application
D-ICE KFA can be applied directly to airport pavements for both anti-icing (preventive) and de-icing (reactive) treatments.
Anti-icing
Applied ahead of freezing rain or snowfall, D-ICE KFA forms a protective barrier.
De-icing
When ice or slush is already present, D-ICE KFA quickly lowers the freezing point of water and penetrates ice layers, breaking the bond with the pavement for efficient mechanical removal.

Standards & Testing
D-ICE KFA has been certified and tested according to the SAE AMS 1435 D standard, ensuring international compliance for airside safety and performance. Testing is conducted by SMI Inc. (USA) and LIMA-AMIL (Canada). Pavement impact (LFV) testing is performed by VTI (Sweden), validating its compatibility with airport surfaces.
